Sailing Solo

Sailing Solo

After handing out some advice on painting, I decided to take some of my own medicine and try something new. These are the same colors I always use. Just fewer. And more muted. The image is from several years ago. Hannah Gray's return from her first single handed sailing voyage. She emerged out of a thick fog. Quietly triumphant. I've often wanted to find a way to depict the moment in a painting. Finally did it today. Because I took a chance and tried a new way.
