Little Red Book
Oil on Canvas
Evening out at the Flynns. Aaron gets credit for the title. And Katie gets credit for delegating the naming task to the guy who had the answer.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Joy of Cooking 1 Oil on Canvas 6"X12" SOLD So you're thinking, where is "The Joy of Cooking" in this painting? It's the first book. The one without a cover. It was willed to me by my mother's friend, Elizabeth who had received it as a wedding present. It has her notes on recipes and no cookbook can take its place. I did buy a new "Joy" with an intact cover and crisp white pages, but it didn't take. The recipes are spruced up and names have changed and not only that, Elizabeth never touched its pages.
Children's Bookshelf Oil on Canvas 16"X12" SOLD I seem to have changed the subject. Just as I was getting to know the habits of my local egret. She's still at the heliport marsh. And I still catch a glimpse as I cross the Richardson Bridge, trying not to crash the car in the process. But there's something about the books that is luring me away. All the egrets and cows are framed and for sale. $125 and up. Call and come by to see them all and find the one that's right for you or someone you love.
Still in the Marsh 3 Oil on Canvas 12"X6" Still stalking the egrets who are still stalking the little morsels they find in the Mill Valley marsh. Am off the the framer with all the recent paintings. And then back to business of painting. Yes. These paintings are all for sale. Contact me for prices. email@example.com
Mother and Child 2"X3" Oil on Wood SOLD Small paintings. Where every mark makes a huge difference. Change happens fast, with the slightest nudge of paint this way or that. So much information in so tiny a space. Miraculous. And satisfying. Intimate. And requiring so little space.
Headed Out Oil on Wood 4"X4" SOLD Just when I thought I was stuck, this. Soaring. I am alive again. The best bird yet. How does that happen? It just does. Sometimes. It's too late in the day to get a good photograph of it. Will post a better one when the sun shines in morning.
Matisse Music 8"X6" Oil on Wood Panel Oh boy, does it ever feel good to be painting! After days of technological snafus of grand proportions all in the name of trying to improve my online presence, I am back where I belong. In the studio. Painting. Music volume way up. And while I'm at it, may I suggest "Bright Star." Beautifully filmed. Every frame a painting. Sad. Oh so sad. Love while you can. And create a little something wonderful every day.
