A delicate Christmas Cactus, accompanied by a note from our neighbor was sitting at the front door yesterday when I returned from a round of errands. A beautiful gesture at just the right moment, unexpected, touching, and deeply appreciated. That, lunch with an old friend, and painting to the sweet sound of a Beethoven Symphony this afternoon is the stuff that gives the season meaning.
