Jan came to dinner last night carrying a bright red, orange, pink, bouquet gathered from her garden, presented in a yellow and red Cafe Bustelo Espresso Ground Coffee can. An enormous deep red dahlia hangs off one side, and the whole thing is so upbeat and inspired it fills the room with hope. August is exhilarating.
