I spent the morning cleaning the house. It was definitely time. As my mother used to say, "to clear out the old energies." Today was also the day to scoop up some old paint sludge that has been accumulating in the bottom of the brush bath jar and use it in a painting. It is a beautiful rich gray that comes from the mixing of every color I've used all summer sloughing off brushes being cleaned. It has a great texture unlike any other paint I use . And there is a certain satisfaction in using a material that is, after all, garbage.
