On the first day of Spring I happened upon Bouquets to Art at the deYoung Museum. Hats, color, and flowers in abundance. The most imaginative flower arrangements ever, inspired by art on the museum walls. Joyous. Hopeful. Rejuvenating.

We were in the country and Rosie was riveted at the window keeping track of rabbits and turkeys in heat. I painted this for Bobby who is having a big birthday this week. But will I be able to part with it so soon? Am thinking I just might have to do a whole series of Rosie at the Window. So many windows. So little time.

The painting in this painting is my most favorite of Chester Arnold. I admire it every time Pamela and I gather at Liza's for tea which we have been doing regularly for over 15 years. Arnold's painting forever linked with enduring friendship. Art embellishing Life embellishing Art.

Marsden Hartley is one of my favorite Maine Artists.
As rain pounds down relentlessly these days, summer seems possible and even probable. Seeing my daughter see through Hartley's window is just plain soothing.
